[dressed] walkabout

from nicolas roeg’s “walkabout.” [production design by brian eatwell / art direction by terry gough]

the few props used in “walkabout” visually represent the foreignness of the english colonist characters and their ineptness to dwell in the australian outback. they become better survivors only as they embrace the land, shedding their (increasingly silly) belongings–vestiges of their former life–as they connect with nature and a native friend.

toy cars / water pistol / cotton blanket / picnic hamper / canned cherries / wool skirt / grey socks / felt boater hat / leather satchel
